LESCHEN & SAUTER MUSICALS, LLC is pleased to announce the world premiere production of Paul Leschen and Fred Sauter's (Bedbugs!!!) new UNTITLED musical, with music direction by Andy Peterson, and directed by John De Los Santos.
Currently, the team is looking to its backers to help pick a title for the upcoming production by hosting a competition, which ends October 20th, on the funding site RocketHub. Donations over $25 allow people to vote on a title, while donations over $1000 allow them to add their own choice of title. Fundraising will continue through November 6th, even after a title is chosen.
The musical, with casting to be announced shortly, will play a limited engagement at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th St. New York, NY 10003). Performances begin Thursday, November 12 and continue through Sunday, November 22. Opening Night is Saturday, November 14 (7 p.m.).
The untitled musical is a fast paced, darkly comedic original musical that tells three infamous "love stories" ripped from the headlines: a diaper-donning astronaut, a humble gay cannibal and a Mormon-kidnapping/dog-cloning beauty queen! Through an original 70s inspired score, this cosmically explosive musical explores themes of loneliness and obsession in a world where technology gives us a fast track to act upon our deepest desires. Let Tony Award winner LENA HALL, who performed in a reading but will not be in the upcoming production, introduce you to some of the songs from the formerly titled, The Astronaut Love Show: "Constellation Man" sung by Lena Hall, Chris Hall and Katie McCreary and "If You Die in Space" sung by Lena Hall.
Tickets are $20 and are now available online at www.artful.ly/leschen-sauter-musicals-llc. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the theater, ½ hour prior to performance. Running Time: Approx 100 minutes. No Intermission. For more information, visit www.leschenandsauter.com/astronautloveshow.
