La MaMa ETC is proud to present, as part of its Poetry Electric Festival, a revival performance of FOOD OF LIFE, written and performed by Clea Rivera, and directed by Sara Berg, with live music accompaniment by Harry Mann and Red Wierenga. Performance will be on Sunday, October 4, at 5:30 PM at 74A East 4th St., NYC.
Meet Michelle Cassis, an eccentric, passionate French chef in town for her NYC cooking show debut. When she encounters a series of unexpected mishaps, she must improvise. Armed with a bottle of wine, and fueled by nostalgic torch songs and her infectious joie de vivre, she welcomes the audience into her colorful, magical and often hilarious world, sharing her views on life, love, art and food. FOOD OF LIFE debuted at La MaMa in April, 2007.
Clea Rivera's NYC acting credits include the Women's Project world premiere of Maria Irene Fornes' SUMMER IN GOSSENSASS.
