Yee Haw! Previews being tonight for the Off-Broadway premiere of Lucky Guy, a new musical comedy, written and directed by Willard Beckham. The show will officially open on Thursday, May 19th and play a 12-week engagement through Sunday, July 24th at the Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street, between 9th & Dyer Avenues). L. Glenn Poppleton produces.
Lucky Guy stars Emmy Award-winner Leslie Jordan ("Will & Grace," My Trip Down the Pink Carpet), Varla Jean Merman (aka Jeffery Roberson) (Chicago, "Ugly Betty"), Kyle Dean Massey (Next To Normal, Wicked), Jenn Colella (Urban Cowboy, High Fidelity), Jim Newman (Curtains, Steel Pier), Savannah Wise (Rock of Ages, Ragtime), and Callan Bergmann, Xavier Cano, Wes Hart and Joshua Woodie as The Buckaroos.
The Lucky Guy creative team includes Rob Bissinger (set design), Paul Miller (lighting design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Kurt Fischer (sound design), A.C. Ciulla (choreography), Todd Ellison (orchestrations and musical supervision) and Mark Hummel (dance arrangements).
