LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE Welcomes Birdsong, Joyce and Wilson to Cast, 10/21

Producer Daryl Roth will welcome Mary Birdsong, Lisa Joyce, Jane Lynch and Mary Louise Wilson to the rotating company of Love, Loss, and What I Wore, an intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, and directed by Karen Carpenter, beginning Wednesday, October 21st. The actresses join current company member Tyne Daly.

Love, Loss, and What I Wore opened on October 1st to rave reviews, and is playing to sold out houses at The Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street), with tickets now on sale through March 2010.

This collection of stories and monologues is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons' friends. Like the popular book, Love, Loss, And What I Wore uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to. The production will be performed by a rotating cast of five all-star actors, who will perform in four-week cycles.

The design team for Love, Loss, and What I Wore includes Jo Winiarski (Scenic Design), Jessica Jahn (Costume Design), Jeff Croiter (Lighting Design), Walter Trarbach (Sound Design) and Maria Verel (Make-Up Design).

A portion of the production's proceeds will benefit Dress for Success, a charity that provides work clothing and job support for low-income women. Audience members are invited to donate their gently-used purses and other accessories in the theatre lobby.

Mary Louise Wilson played Big Edie in Grey Gardens (Tony Award, Drama Desk and Lortel Nominations), Fraulein Schneider in the revival of Cabaret (Tony nomination), Diana Vreeland in Full Gallop (Obie, Drama Desk), which she co-wrote with Mark Hampton. Her films include Stepmom, Huck Finn, Green Card, She-Devil, Pet Sematary, Zelig, The Money Pit, Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, King Of The Gypsies and Klute. Recent television appearances include "Frasier," "Cosby" and "The Sopranos."

Nora Ephron (Playwright) is a journalist, novelist, playwright, screenwriter and director. Her credits include Heartburn, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail and Imaginary Friends. Books include Crazy Salad, Scribble Scribble, and I Feel Bad About My Neck. Her most recent film, Julie & Julia, stars Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.

Delia Ephron (Playwright) is an author, playwright, and screenwriter. She has written books for adults, teens, and children -- fiction, non-fiction, humor -- including the novels Hanging Up and Big City Eyes. Her novel, The Girl with the Mermaid Hair, will be published next winter, a sequel to her critically acclaimed novel for teens, Frannie in Pieces. Her best-selling book How to Eat Like a Child was adapted as a musical for television and subsequently became a theatrical musical for children. Her screenwriting credits include The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, You've Got Mail, Michael, This Is My Life and Hanging Up.

Ilene Beckerman (Original Book and Drawings) was nearly 60 when she began her writing career. Her articles have appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Ladies Home Journal, and many other places. Her books have been translated into German, Japanese, French, and Portuguese; she has done spot drawings for the New Yorker and her art has been included in exhibitions at the Museum of the City of New York. She now travels the country talking to women's groups. Now 74 years old, Beckerman says, "Ladies, you're never too old to start again."
