Listen below!
Guests in the initial episodes include producer Brian Moreland (Thoughts of a Colored Man), SpotCo Chief Operating Officer Aaliytha Stevens; stage manager/producer Cody Renard Richard, general manager Nzinga Williams, League Road Vice Chair Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, Tony Award-winning producer/press agent Irene Gandy; with many more to come.
"What does a Broadway producer look like-or sound like? We hope this podcast series will normalize seeing Black individuals in leadership roles on Broadway," says Gennean Scott. "While representation matters, this podcast is for everyone. By spotlighting the stories of Black Broadway professionals, we will chip away at unconscious bias and illuminate the many non-performance career paths in the Broadway industry, both in New York City and on the road."
"This podcast is an important initiative for the Black to Broadway program. It ensures we continue to engage and inspire the Black Community in a meaningful way. The League is incredibly excited to partner with the Broadway Podcast Network in this effort." says Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League.
"We are thrilled to be partnered with incredible host Gennean Scott and the Broadway League on this spectacular new podcast," said Broadway Podcast Network CEO Dori Berinstein. "Amplifying BIPOC voices is a top, ongoing priority for us at BPN. We couldn't be more excited to introduce The Black Business of Broadway to our audience as essential listening for anyone and everyone interested in behind-the-curtain Broadway."
The Podcast is available on the BPN APP, Apple/iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, iHeart, TuneIn, Deezer, Player.FM, Pocket Cast, Podcast Addict and everywhere else you listen to podcasts.
