Monumental Birthday Celebration will take place at World Yacht Marina (Pier 81, West 41st Street at the Hudson River) from 5 - 8:30 p.m. and will include a reading of Emma Lazarus' poem "The New Colossus" by a diverse group of children speaking in their native languages, food and
drink from around the world, performances by LIBERTY: A Monumental New Musical and an evening sail to visit the guest of honor, The Statue of Liberty, in NYC Harbor from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
LIBERTY: A Monumental New Musical will give back to the Statue that inspired its story by raising funds to support The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation which is dedicated to the ongoing
restoration, preservation and enhancement of our country's two greatest monuments to freedom and opportunity.
In the spirit of the historic Statue of Liberty Pedestal Fund, LIBERTY: A Monumental New Musical will seek contributions of pennies, nickels and dimes on the 124th Birthday of the Statue of Liberty. All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation that works to promote knowledge of Lady Liberty, Ellis Island and immigration history, currently through its creation of The Peopling of America Center at Ellis Island.
Hosted by World Yacht, Liberty's Monumental Birthday Celebration will honor America's vibrant immigrant heritage with a wide array of food and drink from around the world. Beverages will be provided by Yuengling, Liberty Winery and Me-Oko Vodka. The menu will feature samplings from several popular New York restaurants including:

Cast members from LIBERTY: A Monumental New Musical will present a portion of the show during the celebration, including a performance of the musical's anthem "Huddled Masses," based on the poem by Emma Lazarus. Featured in the performance will be Chelsea Stock (Little Mermaid) as "Liberty," Ryan Duncan (Shrek) as "Goodleaf," Mark Aldrich (Ragtime) as "Pulitzer/McKay/Bartholdi," Adam Monley (Mamma Mia!) as "Walker" and Lewis Grosso as "Giovanni."
LIBERTY: A Monumental New Musical, featuring a Book and Lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein with Music by Jon Goldstein, tells the story of a beautiful, French immigrant who arrives in New York Harbor in 1884. The powerful new musical follows the statuesque immigrant's struggle, strife and success in the ever-evolving country she's come to symbolize. Director Igor Goldin (Yank!) helms the creative team which also includes Musical Direction and Vocal Arrangements by Jeffrey Lodin, Choreography by Jeffry Denman and Orchestrations by Bryan Crook.
