Next Tuesday, January 11, 2010 at 10pm, a host of Broadway performers will gather at (Le) Poisson Rouge to celebrate the music of Adam Gwon and the release of the original cast recording of his musical Ordinary Days, which is now available on Ghostlight Records (http://sh-k-boom.com/ordinarydays.shtml).
Adam Gwon is a composer and lyricist based in New York City. His musical Ordinary Days made its NYC premiere with a sold-out run at Roundabout Theatre Company and is currently licensed by The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, with a cast album on Ghostlight Records. Adam's upcoming projects include The Boy Detective Fails (book: Joe Meno) and Bernice Bobs Her Hair (book/lyrics: Julia Jordan), as well as original musicals with playwrights Octavio Solis and Sarah Hammond. His work has been seen at Roundabout, Primary Stages, York Theatre, South Coast Repertory, Signature Theatre (Arlington), the Kennedy Center, Ars Nova, New Dramatists, NAMT, NYMF, SPF/Public Theater, Adirondack Theatre Festival, Human Race Theatre Co., Pennsylvania Centre Stage, Finborough Theatre (London), the ASCAP/Disney workshop, and many others. Adam is the winner of the Fred Ebb Award for excellence in Musical Theatre Songwriting, the ASCAP Harold Adamson Lyric Writing Award, the MAC John Wallowitch Award for Outstanding Songwriter under 35, and received a MAC Award nomination for Best Song. He is currently at work on commissions from South Coast Rep, Signature Theatre (Arlington), Broadway Across America, and the EST/Sloan Project.
