LAByrinth Theater Company (Co-Artistic Directors Stephen Adly Guirgis, Mimi O'Donnell, Yul Vázquez and Managing Director, Danny Feldman) announced today the creative team and initial casting for the World Premiere production of Ninth and Joanie, written by Brett C. Leonard and directed by MarK Wing-Davey. Performances begin at The Bank Street Theater on April 5, 2012.
Tickets will go on sale March 6 at labtheater.org, with an exclusive pre-sale opportunity for LABpass Members.
Kevin Corrigan (The Departed, "Grounded for Life") and Bob Glaudini (The Poison Tree, Jack Goes Boating) will star as prodigal son and grieving father in this powerful new play set on Ninth Street in South Philadelphia in 1986. As Labyrinth Co-Artistic Director Yul Vázquez said today, "Brett C. Leonard picks up where dark ends. We love that."
While additional casting is still forthcoming, this announcement marks a return to acting for Glaudini, after many years working as an established playwright and screenwriter in New York, and a Labyrinth deubt for Corrigan, who will be taking the Bank Street Theater stage after many years as a close friend of the Company.
On the creative side, it has been announced that Set Design will be by David Meyer, Costume Design by Labyrinth Co-Artistic Director Mimi O'Donnell, Lighting Design by Bradley King, and Sound Design by Zack Brown.
