This holiday season Keen Company will bring audiences an extra special treat as it reunites the original cast members of one of the company's most beloved productions - John Patrick's The Hasty Heart (originally presented in Keen's 5th Season), for one night only.
The Hasty Heart was originally presented by Keen in 2004. The moving story of a young Scottish soldier (Keith Nobbs) in a World War II army hospital, The Hasty Heart will reunite most of its original cast for a one night only benefit reading on Monday, December 8th (7pm) at Theatre Row's Acorn Theatre (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). A gala benefit reception with the artists celebrating Keen's anniversary will follow.
Joining original cast members Stephen Bradbury, Emily Donahoe (33 Variations, The Christians, "Homeland"), Lucas Hall, Anthony Manna, Keith Nobbs (Lombardi, The Great God Pan, Four; upcoming: "Public Morals" on TNT), Brian Sgambati, and Paul Swinnerton will be Jimonn Cole and Bill Heck (currently appearing as Cliff in Roundabout's Cabaret; previous: The Orphans' Home Cycle, Angels in America, The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino; The Amazing Spiderman 2).
Revisit this touching story of an embittered Scotsman (Nobbs) who learns to open his heart before it is too late. "Keith Nobbs is turning in one of the season's best Scrooges" declared The New York Times. "This is three, maybe five-hanky stuff" said The New York Sun. And Backstage called it "engrossing and poignant."
