Based on a true story, this one-person show links 19th century Russia to the present-day U.S. Written and performed by Kathleen Wilce-Kaczan, 'Anna & Me' emphasizes the eternal relevance of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina to our life journey, illustrating continuity of world culture. 'Anna & Me' will be performed on April 2.
Kathleen produced and performed in Tolstoy's Anna Karenina adapted by British playwright, Helen Edmunson at the Beckmann Theatre (ATA) in August of 2007. This is when she became passionate about writing her own show. This play is new work based on her own life story, her passion for Anna Karenina, and how the two entwined.
Kathleen performed a staged reading of her show at Black Box Theaterette in March of 2009, which was an opportunity given to her by her very supportive voice coach Elizabeth Hodes.
She wrote the script in collaboration with Stass Klassen who offered his time and insights to help bring the script to it's fullest potential.
