Justin Kirk, Jameal Ali & More to Star in THE INVISIBLE HAND at NYTW

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) announced today complete casting for the New York Premiere of THE INVISIBLE HAND, written by Pulitzer Prize Winner Ayad Ahktar. Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll, THE INVISIBLE HAND begins previews on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 and officially opens on Monday, December 8, 2014 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003) for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 4, 2015.

The cast will feature Jameal Ali (Hunted), Usman Ally (The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity), Dariush Kashani (The Happiest Song Plays Last) and Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Justin Kirk (Showtime's "Weeds").

This production will also feature scenic design by Tony Award nominee Riccardo Hernandez (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess), costume design by Tony Award nominee ESosa (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess), lighting design by Obie Award winner Tyler Micoleau (The Fortress of Solitude) and sound design by Lortel Award winner Leah Gelpe (Slowgirl).

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced, The Who & The What) makes his New York Theatre Workshop debut with The Invisible Hand, directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll (Red Dog Howls). THE INVISIBLE HANDfollows an American investment banker, kidnapped and held for ransom in Pakistan, as he trades for his life. This suspenseful new play is a chilling and complex look at how far we will go to save ourselves and the devastating ramifications of our individual actions on global power and politics.

Single tickets for THE INVISIBLE HAND are $75, with $35 tickets available for performances from November 19 to November 30 and $55 tickets available performances from December 2 to December 10. In addition, a variety of membership packages are on sale now at www.nytw.org or 212-279-4200.

As previously announced, New York Theatre Workshop's 2014/15 season will also include the New York premiere of The Actor's Touring Company Production of THE EVENTS, written by David Greig, with music by John Browne, directed by Ramin Gray; and the New York premiere of FOREVER, written and performed by Dael Orlandersmith and directed by Neel Keller.
