The Citizens Band's production of 'The Debt Rattle' will see Tony Award nominee Justin Bond and Mr. Blue as guest stars when it takes to the Abrons Arts Center stage on October 22-24.
According to press notes, the story of Rattle is "set in the desperate world of a 1930s dance marathon, The Debt Rattle finds the resilient Citizen's Band struggling to make sense of a post-crash social order. Filled with classic and original songs, aerial arts, dance, and a generous sprinkling of the Citizen's Band's flair, The Debt Rattle looks to the past to find hope in the future."
Gordon Greensberg directs the production, with musical direction under the helm of Kimberley Grigsby.
The production will also feature the talenst of Chelsea Bacon, Ian Buchanan, Michael Cavadias, Adam Crystal, Karen Elson, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Rachelle Garniez, Mike Jackson, Greg Jarrett, Zoe Kravitz, Dave Lebleu, Mark McAdam, Amy Miles, Jon Natchez, Nina Persson, Rain Phoenix, and Ronin.
Justin Bond is a singer-songwriter and a performance artist. He is best known for his drag portrayal of Kiki, an alcoholic, and bitter chanteuse known for her raucous and edgy medleys of unusual cover songs. As Kiki, Bond performed with piano-playing sidekick, Herb played by Kenny Mellman, as part of the lounge act Kiki and Herb. Their show Kiki & Herb: Alive on Broadway was nominated for a 2007 Tony for Special Theatrical Event
