On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, the company of the hit Off-Broadway comedy Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage! will welcome "Three's Company" star Joyce Dewitt in the title role.

Ms. DeWitt takes over for original star Eve Plumb ("The Brady Bunch"), who played her final performance on Sunday, May 29 at the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre at Sofia's (221 West 46th Street, next to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in Times Square).

Joyce Dewitt is most widely known to audiences for her starring role as Janet Wood in the ABC Television hit series "Three's Company." She also has an extensive background in the theatre, working both as actress and director in a stage career spanning more than forty years.

DeWitt has starred in numerous theatrical productions including most recently the Canadian premieres of the 2000 Pulitzer Prize-winning play Dinner With Friends and Alfred Uhry's Tony Award-winning play The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Other recent stage performances include the North American premiere of the Australian comedy Daylight Savings, the British farce Noises Off, Cole Porter's Anything Goes, and Olympus on My Mind, for which she completed the cast recording -- her first album.

Her other theatre credits include starring roles in Chapter Two, Sweet Charity, Damn Yankees, Middle of the Night, Star Spangled Girl, The Crucible, Medea, Tartuffe, A Hatful of Rain, Desire Under the Elms, MacBeth, The Mikado, Lil' Abner, South Pacific, The Man Who Came To Dinner, Peter Pan, Brigadoon, All the Way Home, A Month in the Country, The Tempest, The Impossible Years, Dracula: An Original Rock Musical, Stop the World, I Want To Get Off and Same Time, Next Year.

She has also made numerous guest-starring appearances on popular television programs including "The Loveboat," "The Osmonds," "Hope Island," "Cybill," "Twitch City" and "Living Single", as well as starring in the television movies With This Ring and Spring Fling.

Ms. DeWitt holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ball State University and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from UCLA where she was awarded the Master of Fine Arts Fellowship as well as the Clifton Webb Scholarship.

Along with Valerie Harper and Dennis Weaver, DeWitt participated with members of the House and Senate at the Capitol Hill Forum on Hunger and Homelessness and has hosted presentations for the Family Assistance Program of Hollywood. She is most grateful for having been allowed the privilege of hosting the International Awards Ceremony at the White House for the Presidential End Hunger Awards, as well as co-hosting, with Jeff Bridges, the World Food Day Gala at the Kennedy Center.

Written by Ken Davenport (Altar Boyz, My First Time) and Sarah Saltzberg (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage! is based on Abigail Grotke's popular book - the comedy's namesake - that promises "classic advice for contemporary dilemmas."

Miss Abigail is the most sought-after relationship expert to the stars - think Dr. Ruth meets Emily Post - and in Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage!, she and her sexy sidekick Paco (played by Mauricio Perez) travel the globe teaching her outrageously funny "how-tos" on dating, mating and marriage.

Davenport directs as Miss Abigail takes you back to a simpler time, before booty calls and speed-dating, back when the divorce rate wasn't 50 percent and Fidelity was more than an investment firm.

During this 90-minute comedy, audiences are guaranteed to laugh-out-loud and learn a thing or two . . . like how to have a perfect kiss (it's all about lip position) . . . what you should and should not talk about on a date (don't mention your troll doll collection) . . . and how to let a man think he wears the pants.

Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage! features scenic design by Hilary Noxon, costume design by Abbi Stern and lighting design by Graham Kindred. The production began preview performances on Thursday, October 7, 2010 and officially opened on Sunday, October 24.

Three types of ticket packages will be available for the performance. Lovers Lane is the VIP package that includes table seating, champagne and a rose from Miss Abigail for $125. The Drive-In premium package includes table seating for $99.99. Regular Tickets are $69.50.
