THE INTERN: A NEW MUSICAL BY FREDDY WEXLER

Sunday, September 20 at 9:30 PM

It's 2010. All that remains of the record industry is the World Wide Record Company, a wasteland of uninspired, ass-kissing douchebags. Afloat in this sea of garbage, Robert Donovan is an intern who dreams of becoming a rock star. The Intern tells his story: a story of the turbulent rise of a self-made rocker, the woman who wins his heart, and the backstabbing suits who try to bring them down. Hearts are broken, dreams come true, and the music rocks...

Freddy Wexler is an English major at the University of Pennsylvania. Formerly signed to Virgin Records, Freddy is a prominent songwriter signed to EMI Music Publishing. His songs have appeared on countless records and television shows, such as "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Bachelorette." As an artist, he has toured with such acts as Maroon 5, Simple Plan, Katy, Perry, The New Temptations, Good Charlotte, and Colbie Caillet, and his songs have charted Top 30 on both terrestrial and satellite radio.

Together, the writers of "The Intern" have written for and/or produced Celine Dion, Marc Anthony, Anastasia, Brittany Spears, Avril Lavigne, Mandy Moore, Lee Ann Womack, Mya, LFO, Vitamin C, Marcy Playground, Joey Lawrence, Hall and Oates, Willa Ford, and Lee Ann Womack to name a few. $25

Performers include Lauren Worsham (NY City Opera's "Candide"), Theresa McCarthy ("Titanic", "Floyd Collins"), and Morgan James (Bernstein's "Mass") plus many other special guest composers, librettists and singers as they present works of contemporary music theater for the 21st century $15
