Beginning July 14th, Adam Davenport will join the cast of Naked Boys Singing!, the outrageous musical comedy cited this week by Time Out as one of the longest running shows on Broadway/off-Broadway.
From Drama Desk nominee Tom D'Angora (NEWSical The Musical) and Michael D'Angora, the show is an hour of non-stop comedy, nudity, dancing and as the title says, singing! The production opened on April 5, 2012 at Theatre Row's Kirk Theatre.
A Yale graduate, Davenport won an Independent Music Award at Lincoln Center this spring for his debut music project "My Return Address is You," for which he charted on Billboard's Dance Club chart for 10 weeks, making him the first African-American artist/producer to chart on Billboard for Electronic Dance Music. He recently appeared in Sir David McVicar's production of Tosca at The Metropolitan Opera and co-starred on this season of HBO's High Maintenance - his performance was recently submitted on the Emmy nominating ballot for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy.
"This is my first musical in New York, and I'm just thrilled!" says Davenport.
Tickets for Naked Boys Singing! are available at the Theatre Row box office or through Telecharge.com at 212-239-6200. The Kirk at Theatre Row is located at 410 W. 42nd Street off of 9th Avenue.
