Deaths Head, the immersive theatre company behind Awakening: A Seance at The Morris-Jumel Mansion, announces with Journey Lab, the theatrical experiences company, today that they will be co-producing a new production. This is the first major collaboration between both companies.
"We came upon Journey Lab earlier this year and were so taken with their work that we immediately knew we had to work with them for our next project", said the representative from Deaths Head. Founded in 2008, Deaths Head Theatrical has been at the cutting edge of unique immersive theatre. This shadowy theatre collective has staged its unique brand of historical, haunted, invitation only immersive theatre at historical sites all over the country. Last year Deaths Head presented their first "open to the public show" at the Morris-Jumel Mansion. The show sold out and was featured in the New York Times. The company has an anonymous rotating artistic team and has been the silent partner for numerous traditional and immersive theatres all over the country.
Journey Lab burst onto the scene this year with their piece Astor and Grey, the first part of an intimate series of rendezvous set in local cafes. They strive to reimagine how audiences experience storytelling. "This production is going to be unlike anything New York audiences have seen" said
Victor Carinha, Journey Lab's Artistic Director. "The show, titled Give Me The Sun, is based on Ibsen's Ghosts and will submerge the audience into the text in an immersive and site sympathetic environment."
Give Me The Sun is slated to open in January at a secret location in New York City. Follow both companies on social media for more information.
