THE IMAGINE PROJECT, Inc will present IMAGINE, as part of the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival - Fringe NYC - Fringe Jr. for five special performances in August at the CSV Cultural & Educational Center. All actors are part of the ongoing Imagine Project creativity workshops. Half our cast members come to us from our programs in New York City Homeless Shelters.

Based on ideas & improvisations of their own creation, the cast of twelve young actors brings to life eight contemporary stories filled with beauty, humor & magic, expressed in their own words. Themes dealing with such universal topics as "Love," "What If?" "Ya Gotta Leave this World A Better Place!" "Ideas Parts I & II," as well as the fairy-tale-silliness of "Magic Shoes" & "There Ain't No Royal Prince in Brooklyn," illuminate the joys, doubts & fears that young people so often express as they try to make sense out of the senseless.

THE IMAGINE PROJECT Inc. is a not for profit 501(c) 3 corporation, dedicated to nurturing a child¹s creativity through the arts, was founded in 1992 by Bill Bartlett under the auspices of The Creative Arts Team of New York University & is based on the principle that there exists within each child a creative energy which must not lie dormant. Rather, this creativity must be channeled to radiate light, for energy misdirected can lead to things far more destructive than darkness. For many children The Imagine Project may be the only place they may ever have to discover that all accomplishments start with a dream & that all dreams are possible.

IMAGINE will perform the following schedule:
Sat, 8/15 @ noon, Sun, 8/16 @ 3:45pm; Thurs, 8/20 @ 7:30pm
