Heredia And Jackson Cast In New York International Fringe Festival Production Of TALES FROM THE TUNNEL

Casting is complete for Tales From The Tunnel, part of the 13th annual New York International Fringe Festival FringeNYC. Written and directed by Troy Diana and James Valletti, Tales From The Tunnel will feature six actors playing nearly 100 characters, and is a series of humorous, heartbreaking and insightful pieces based on over 150 TRUE subway stories.

Wilson Jermaine Heredia, who won the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his portrayal of 'Angel' in Rent, and later reprised his role in the film version, is part of a cast that features Eric Jackson (Young Frankenstein, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Vayu O'Donnell, (FringeNYC: Perfect Harmony, Williamstown: Sweet Bird of Youth), Farah Bala (To The Death of My Own Family), Geri Brown (All Shook Up), Carla Corvo (A Flea in Her Ear), Heidi Azaro (Dreams of Home), and Sam Rosenberg (CRS' The Music Man). Lighting Design by Paul Miller (Broadway's Legally Blonde), Sound Design by Jess Bauer, and Stage Managed by Byron F. Abens (Gates of Gold, 59E59).

Mr. Diana's credits include Storia (2007 MITF/London's South Hill Park), Stressed, Depressed and Repressed (Pulse Theatre), and Take This Job (Zipper Theatre), and Mr. Valletti's Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include Fiddler on the Roof, The Phantom of the Opera, Little Women, The Times They Are A-Changin', Altar Boyz (Assistant Director) and pre-Broadway/readings of 9 to 5 and Ring of Fire. The pair met in the 2006 Lincoln Center Director¹s Lab and have since interviewed hundreds of subway riders and transit employees, all of whom had something to say about their travels throughout the veins of NYC.

Tales From The Tunnel will take place at The Connelly Theater, 220 East 4th Street. Dates and times are Saturday Aug. 15th at 12:00pm, Monday August 17th at 7:45pm, Thursday August 20th at 7:00pm, Sunday August 23rd at 4:45pm, and Friday August 28th at 3:00 pm.
