Acclaimed playwright and co-founder of the Obie-Award winning Little Theater, Kristen Kosmas premieres her new play Hello Failure at Performance Space 122.  Hello Failure previews March 2; opening Thursday, March 6 at 8PM through March 22.

"Hello Failure is the comical, unpredictable and lyrical account of seven submariner's wives negotiating the peculiar drama of absence.  In Hello Failure, Kosmas' singular voice and distinctive theatrical sensibility create an oddly affecting and delightfully disorienting world, where communication and bridges collapse, and little attempts at kindness are botched or lost in the mail," describe press notes, "As a support group for wives of submariners on mission meets, one of their members locks herself in the bathroom and confronts the catalyst of their loneliness and fear, Horace Hunley, infamous developer of a specific class of submarine; his Confederate creations continually sank only to be recovered and re-manned; after a successful mission, his eponymous sub sank once again – this time with Horace on it.  He's conjured by Rebecca, appropriately enough, while she is locked in her bathroom."

Hello Failure will be directed by Ken Rus Schmoll and feature Michael Chick, Benjamin Forster, Janna Gjesdal, Megan Hart, Joan Jubett, Kristen Kosmas, Matthew Maher, Aimee Phelan-Deconinck, Tricia Rodley and Maria Striar.

Kristen Kosmas is a playwright, actor, and critically acclaimed solo performer currently living bi-coastally between Seattle and New York City.  She has had plays commissioned by the New City Theater in Seattle and by Dixon Place in New York.  Her work has also been produced in theaters in Austin, Boston, and Chicago.  Her plays include The Mayor of Baltimore (Dixon Place, Little Theater, Barbès), Anthem (Dixon Place), Palomino (Little Theater), and Chapter of Accidents (The Adaptation Project at CSC).

Hello Failure runs March 6 – March 22 on the following schedule:  Monday, Thursday – Saturday at 8PM and Sundays at 6:30PM.  Tickets: $18 each, $15 (students/seniors), $10 (P.S. 122 members).  Tickets may be purchased online at www.ps122.org or via phone at (212) 352-3101.  Performance Space 122 is located at 150 First Avenue at East 9th Street, New York, New York 10009.  www.ps122.org
