Mark Setlock, currently appearing Off-Broadway in "Heart of the City," will be this week's guest on WGHT Radio's "Curtain Call" Wednesday, June 17 at 9:30 a.m. Morning host Teisha Bader interviews stars of the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway every Wednesday morning on WGHT Radio (1500AM), North Jersey's oldies station. Teisha was recently awarded the top prize in the "Radio Feature" category by the Garden State Journalists Association. Recent guests on "Curtain Call" include Kristin Chenoweth, Orlando Jones, Robert Klein, and Jackie Mason. The interviews can be heard live at www.ghtradio.com.
"Heart of the City" is the quintessential New York tale -- from a woman on the ultimate date-from-hell; to a mismatched romance on the Brooklyn IRT; to a young artist trying to juggle inspiration and a survival job; to a couple hoping to conceive a child; plus a lesson on the proper way to make a Matzo ball. This new play artfully combines humor, joy, sorrow, love and romance as it takes you on a dazzling ride of the heart.
Mark Setlock starred in Off-Broadway's smash hit "Fully Committed," for which he received the 2000 Outer Critics Circle Award. He repeated this solo play triumph in London's West End and Los Angeles. Mark was in the original Broadway cast of "Rent" and his other New York stage credits include "The Last Sunday In June," "The Umbrella Plays," "Roulette," "The Safety Net," and "Never Tell."
Performances of "Heart of the City" are Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday evenings at 8 PM, with matinees Saturday at 2 PM and Sunday at 3 PM. The Theatre at 30th Street is located at 259 West 30th Street, between Seventh & Eighth Ave. Tickets are $18 and are available through SmartTix.com 212-868-4444.
