Following a highly successful debut at Theatre503 in 2015 and a critically acclaimed run at London's Trafalgar Studio's in 2016, Jon Brittain's Rotterdam will transfer to 59E59 Theaters, in New York, for a four-week run as Hartshorn - Hook Productions take their first show to North America this Spring.

Louis Hartshorn Managing Director at Hartshorn - Hook Productions says: 'We are delighted to be working again alongside this amazing team to bring Rotterdam to 59E59. Audiences in the UK have been incredibly taken with this show and we're looking forward to sharing this witty and wise story even further to bring this rare gem of a play to the New York audience'.

Anna Martine Freeman (The Nether), Alice McCarthy (Boris: World King) and Ed EaLes White (Strap in its Clever Peter) reprise their roles in this poignant and highly comic production with Ellie Morris (Peter Pan Goes Wrong) joining the cast as Lelani. Rotterdam will be directed by Director Donnacadh O'Briain.

Rotterdam is a bittersweet comedy about gender, sexuality and being a long way from home by acclaimed writer Jon Brittain, co-creator of Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho, and writer of What Would Spock Do? and The Sexual Awakening of Peter Mayo. Brittain, inspired to write Rotterdam after stories of friends transitioning in the late 2000s, became aware of the absence of transgender stories in popular culture and wanted to address this on the stage. Members of the trans communities including Trans Media Watch have since lent their endorsement to the production.

Hartshorn - Hook Productions was founded in 2007 and has produced over 70 shows including Woody Sez (nominated for Best West End Musical at the Evening Standard Awards); Away From Home (Winner of the 24:7 Award for Best Actor and MTA Award for Best New Play) and Some Small Love Story (nominated for the MTM:UK Award for Best Lyrics). Hartshorn - Hook have been an associate producer's for the West End Productions of Urine Town (Apollo Theatre) and American Idiot (Arts Theatre/UK Tour). In 2015 H+H took The Rat Pack - Live Show to the Seychelles islands; General-managed the London transfer of Kingmaker; Co-produced the 25th Anniversary production of Jim Cartwright's Two; concluded the international tour of Away From Home and produced the sell-out I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change In 2016 they produced the UK premiere of Murder Ballad.

Rotterdam is written by Jon Brittain, Directed by Donnacadh O'Briain and designed by Ellan Parry. With Lighting design by Richard Williamson and Sound by Keegan Curran. Rotterdam is produced by Louis Hartshorn and Brian Hook, Hartshorn - Hook Productions.
