Off-Broadway's sellout comedy sensation How To Be a New Yorker is moving to Times Square's newest theatre, The Screening Room Theater at Planet Hollywood, tonight, September 20th. Written and performed by Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle, How To Be a New Yorker began performances August 22, 2012 at Sofia's Downstairs Theater where the show has played to packed houses over the past year.
The Planet Hollywood edition of How To Be a New Yorker will introduce a bounty of new material including the debut of its hilarious new sketch, "Real Housewives of the Upper East Side." How To Be a New Yorker delivers a laugh-filled tour around the greatest city in the world with actors, comedians and licensed tour guides Ms. Copeland and Mr. Doyle as they play over 70 characters. Under the direction of OBIE Award winner Robert Ross Parker, this "Saturday Night Live" style comedy features a hilarious look at NYC's 400-year history. Immigrants, construction workers, muggers, Wall Street bankers, panhandlers, MTA workers, and Mayor Bloomberg all get a solid lampooning! It doesn't matter if you were born on the Upper West Side or just took your first terrifying cab ride, you will love learning How To Be a New Yorker.
The playing schedule for How To Be a New Yorker at The Screening Room Theater at Planet Hollywood Times Square (1540 Broadway) will be Fridays at 7 PM and Saturdays at 1:30 & 7 PM. The entrance is located on 45th Street just east of Broadway.
