HELLO DOLLY Vet Bill Mullikin Dies at 83

Variety reports today that Bill Mullikin has passed away of Alzheimer's disease on Saturday in Santa Cruz, CA at the age of 83. Mullikin is best known for his role as Cornelius Hackle in the original Broadway production of HELLO DOLLY.

Variety states that Mullikin performed the role of Cornelius Hackle more than 2,000 times on Broadway and on tour in the US and Australia.

Mullikin's other stage and screen credits include the musical review "New Faces of 1952" and "Hell is for Heroes" in which he starred alongside Steve McQueen, Bobby Darin and Bob Newhart according to Variety. Other Broadway and US tour credits include THE BAKER'S WIFE and SOUTH PACIFIC.

Mullikin is survived by his son and daughter.
