Gritty New Musical THE DEATH OF THE MOON Begins Tonight Off-Broadway

MC Theatrical Productions presents THE DEATH OF THE MOON, a dramatic new musical written and directed by Arnold L. Cohen, with music direction by Michael A Ferrara, tonight, September 12th, through October 8th at the Theater Center's Jerry Orbach Theatre (1627 Broadway). The official opening will be on September 17th.

THE DEATH OF THE MOON is an alluringly gritty new musical that tells the story of a young woman's life as it spirals down into a world of drugs and prostitution. The woman, Danielle, fanaticizes of stardom, yet is derailed by self-destructive choices and addiction.

The cast of THE DEATH OF THE MOON features Chloe Tucker, playing Danielle.

The THE DEATH OF THE MOON creative team includes Lauren Page Russell as Properties Master, Andrew Griffin as violist, and Rachel Gawell as cellist. Assistant scenic and costume design by Lauren Page Russell, lighting design by Grant W. S. Yeager and stage management by Angie Perez and Brianna Reedy.

Performances of THE DEATH OF THE MOON are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays at 7PM, Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 2PM & 8PM, and Sundays at 3PM. The first preview is September 12th. Opening night is September 17th and the show runs through October 8th. ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Michael A Ferrara (Music Director) is a versatile and eclectic musician, equally at home in such diverse roles as conducting symphonic repertoire and performing in musical theater and opera pit orchestras. Currently he is residing in New York City and pursuing his career in music as a conductor and music director. His recent credits include: Music Director: Hair (Columbia University), Pianist and Music Director: New York Symphony's performance of Carmina Burana at the Washington Square Park Music Festival, and Music Director: Hairspray (Laguna Playhouse).

Alyssa Krompier (Assistant Director) is a New York City-based director and actor. She holds a B.A. in theater from Rutgers University and has worked for the Tony Award-winning Crossroads Theatre Company. Past directing credits include Dog Sees God and Next to Normal, as well as various children's theater productions around the NY/NJ regional area. Most recently, Alyssa played the starring role in the Off-Broadway production of The Virgin Slayer.

Chloe Tucker (Danielle) was born and raised in Los Angeles and has been performing professionally since the age of 4. LA credits include Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, Velma Kelly in Chicago and various commercials. Other credits include Sophie in the Mamma Mia! National tour and Ginny in Chasing the Song at the La Jolla Playhouse. Most recently, she wrapped production on the television pilot "Adventure Capital." She attended the Hamilton Academy of Music and the Boston Conservatory.
