Kids all ages can cheer on Little Red Riding Hood as she escapes once again the big bad wolf at Galli's Fairytale Theater this weekend. The show will begin at 3 p.m. in Galli's midtown theater at 38 W. 38 Street, Manhattan.

Galli's Little Red Riding Hood is an uplifting remake of the original Grimm story where a little girl gets lost in the woods, and meets a mean and witty wolf. She engages its audience in song, dance, and comedy along her journey to grandmother's house. The Wolf is almost likable, and definitely funny when he asks the kids to howl along and to help him find Little Red. "This musical telling of this fairy tale encourages children to express their feelings, and overcome their fears," said Dr. Tatjana Maya, Director of Galli Theater.

At the end of each show the theater group invites kids to join the after-show workshop where they can act out their favorite fairy tale characters, and dress up in costumes. The workshop is followed by a mini performance for the adults.

Playwright, clown, and director Johannes Galli has been bringing fairy tales to kids for almost 25 years. Believing that fairy tales are healing for children, he uses the original story but changes the "grim" version into a humorous play that entertains kids and adults alike and has a fun and educating message in the end. "Fairy tales go beyond religious, cultural, and literary developments and are still relevant in today's society," said Johannes Galli. "At Galli Theater it's our mission to help children and adults to reconnect to the ancient wisdom of these tales and myths."
