Lorenzo Lamas, (Grease, Falcon Crest, Celebrity Apprentice) has signed on to play the suave and charismatic narrator El Gallo in the long running musical The Fantasticks this fall.
"It's an honor and a thrill to return to New York and to be on the stage where it all began," says Lamas.
The show's producers, Al Parinello and Catherine Russell have announced that Mr. Lamas will join the cast for a limited engagement that begins on October 24th and concludes November 6th.
In 1976, Lorenzo's mother, actress Arlene Dahl, introduced him to movie producer Alan Carr which led to Lorenzo being cast as the lovable football jock 'Tom' in the blockbuster musical Grease. This was the beginning of a very fruitful acting career in film and television. Among Lorenzo's most notable roles, are Jane Wyman's evil grandson 'Lance' in the long running CBS prime time soap Falcon Crest earning him both a Golden Globe nomination and Nosotros Golden Eagle award. In the 1990's Lorenzo embraced the action genre with roles in many martial arts movies such as Snakeeater and Final Impact. Prolific writer and producer Stephen J Cannell then cast Lorenzo as 'Reno Raines' in the hit syndicated show Renegade in which Lorenzo was also able to direct and produce. Other notable TV roles were on CBS daytime TV's The Bold and The Beautiful, where Lorenzo played firefighter 'HectoR Ramirez' and on Spike TV's The Joe Schmo Show. In October 2006, Lorenzo began his onstage career at Feinstein's in New York. His cabaret act garnered him solid reviews and led to other noteworthy stage roles, including The King and I at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine and in Dracula at Keane University. He returned to the Ogunquit Playhouse in 2008 to play 'Zach' in A Chorus Line. Lorenzo also appeared with playwright/lyricist Tom Jones that year in a production of The Fantasticks as 'El Gallo' at the Casa Mañana theatre in Fort Worth.Videos
