FunikiJam's Holiday Beat returns Off-Broadway at the Actor's Temple Theatre tonight, December 9, 2017 for a limited run.
Part live concert and part stage show, FunikiJam's "HOLIDAY BEAT: Family Musical," is New York City's only holiday show to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Chinese New Year, and Shichigosan - for kids!
Captain Jam and the Agents of Jam invite Junior Agents and New Recruits to sing, dance and play along with their globe-spanning musical adventure to celebrate holidays around the world. Will they complete Special Mission: HOLIDAY PARTY in time to throw the ultimate celebration?
FunikiJam's HOLIDAY BEAT: Family Musical first premiered Off-Broadway in 2015 and returns this year for a 3rd season at select theaters and family venues throughout NYC. The festive event includes a holiday party after the show with dancing, singing, snacks, activities and special guest performances.
Creator, Brian Barrentine (aka Captain Jam) leads the award-winning cast, including members of Broadway's Once, Elvis The Musical, and International Artists from Argentina, Italy and Brazil. Special performances will include appearances from NYC area children's choirs.
The musical has a limited engagement, with shows December 9-10 at the Actors Temple Theatre as well as appearances and performances at FunikiJam's Columbus Circle Headquarters at Symphony House and The 5th Annual Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting in Astoria (Dec. 2).
"FunikiJam's Holiday Beat" is the only holiday musical this season that celebrates Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Chinese New Year, and Shichigosan," said Brian Barrentine, FunikiJam founder and professor of Early Childhood Arts at NYU. "We want to create a contemporary experience where kids, and kids-at-heart, play along while they develop music and language skills and learn more about the world they live in."
FunikiJam World Music, is a landmark early childhood education and entertainment organization with an annual reach of over 70,000 patrons. Uniquely blending Barrentine's original rhymes, chants, songs and stories with indigenous music from around the world, FunikiJam's mission is to empower global citizens to reach their highest potential through its trademark "music exploration for the next generation" classes, live shows, musical recordings, film production, and teacher training.

NOTE: Each performance will be followed by a holiday party with dancing, singing, snacks, activities and special guest performances.
General Admission tickets are $40 for one child, accompanied by an adult.
In addition, special performances will be held each to accommodate class field trips, day care facilities, and other groups.

Actors Temple Theatre is located at 339 W. 47th Street (between 8th and 9th Aves). Actors Temple Theatre is in the historic Actors Temple Synagogue building located in the heart of New York's Times Square Theatre District.
FunikiJam Columbus Circle is located on the 9th floor of at Symphony House, 235 W. 56th Street (between 8th and B'way).
