The full cast has been announced for the new play Ring Twice for Miranda (www.RingTwiceForMiranda.com), written by Alan Hruska (Laugh It Up, Stare It Down; The Man on Her Mind; New House under Construction) and directed by Rick Lombardo (San Jose Rep Artistic Director from 2008-2014, The Snow Queen, Bill W. and Dr. Bob). Premiering at New York City Center Stage II (131 West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues) beginning January 24th, the play will officially open on February 12th. Ring Twice for Miranda is produced by Red Horse Productions and RME Theatrical Group (Executive Producer).
Actors Ian Lassiter (War Horse, An Octoroon) and Talia Thiesfield (Man of La Mancha, "Veep") join the previously announced cast, which includes William Connell (A View From the Bridge, The Coast of Utopia), Katie Kleiger (Juno and the Paycock, Blue Stockings, Miss Bennet), Graeme Malcolm (Equus, Translations, Aida), George Merrick (Honeymoon In Vegas, South Pacific, High Fidelity), Daniel Pearce (Machinal, ...Spelling Bee).
Ring Twice for Miranda is a tragi-comedy set in difficult times, roiled by economic upheavals. A man known only as Sir rules with a vengeance, but it's Miranda, a chambermaid, who adds intrigue to his life. When Elliot, the butler, is fired, she flees with him in defiance onto the frightening streets. All must soon make critical decisions with imperfect facts to guide them, since little in their world is as it appears.
"From the writer's standpoint, the most exciting thing about great actors is that they bring to life, not only every word you've written, but the 'word behind the word,'" said playwright Alan Hruska. "I'm therefore excited that great actors have now signed on for every role. I look forward to collaborating with them, and with our wonderful director and design team, in mounting this new play."
Ring Twice for Miranda features scenic design by Jason Sherwood (Taming of the Shrew - Shakespeare Theatre Company, Paint Your Wagon), costume design by Ann Hould-Ward (Beauty and the Beast, Into The Woods, A Catered Affair), lighting design by Matthew Richards (Grey Gardens, Grace), sound design by Rick Lombardo, and original music by Haddon Kime (The Snow Queen, A Streetcar Named Desire). Casting is by Michael Cassara, CSA.
