Fuerzabruta ("Brute Force"), the new sensation from the creators of the international hit De La Guarda, pushes the boundaries of theater as it dazzles crowds in an open-ended run at the Daryl Roth Theatre.  Previews began on October 11, 2007 and the show celebrated its Official Opening on October 24.

The New York Daily News hailed Fuerzabruta "a sexy, heart-pounding fantasy," saying "Not many shows can boast that they deliver something you've never seen before.  This one does."  Variety wrote "Highly theatrical, ferociously stimulating.  An evening of jaw-dropping sensation.  Fuerzabruta with its magical effects, makes for an eye-popping adventure," and The Star Ledger remarked "Unexpected magnificence.  Sensual, unearthly, nearly hallucinatory.  Wear comfortable clothes and be in the mood for an unusually beguiliing time."

Beyond the confines of spoken language, Fuerzabruta floods the senses in an environment of breathtaking visuals and dynamic music.  Performers run through moving walls, race across a whirling sail overhead and frolic in a watery world suspended just above the audience.  The non-stop action and kinetic aerial imagery is set to a captivating soundtrack of percussive beats, engaging melodies and ambient music.

Diqui James (De La Guarda Co-founder/Co-creator) and Gaby Kerpel (De La Guarda Composer/Musical Director) have embarked on a project forming a new company that continues to push the boundaries of theatrical creativity, motivation and innovation.  Together with Alejandro Garcia (De La Guarda Technical Director) and Fabio Daquila (De La Guarda Production Supervisior), they created this all new production, which springs from the core of De La Guarda and evolves into a new independent form – devoted to reinventing, transforming, and creating an experience that is unique and unrepeatable.

Fuerzabruta premiered in Buenos Aires in 2005 and has been seen in Lisbon (2006), London (2006), Buenos Aires (2006), Bogota (2007) and at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it earned critical praise and was honored with the prestigious Bank of Scotland Herald Angel award for "the biggest and best show on the Fringe – the must see event of 2007" (The Herald).  Additionally, Fuerzabruta played Berlin and Hamburg in Fall 2007.  This show's predecessor De La Guarda played New York in a smash 6-year Off-Broadway run as the inaugural production at the Daryl Roth Theatre, and also had productions in London, Las Vegas, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Seoul, Tel-Aviv, Amersterdam, Berlin, Tokyo, and other cities.

Fuerzabruta in New York features performers Hallie Bulleit, Freddy Bosche, Daniel Case, John Hartzell, Joshua Kobak, Gwyneth Larsen, Tamara Levinson, Rose Mallare, Brooke Miyasaki, Jon Morris, Jason Novak, Marilyn Ortiz, Kepani Salgado-Ramos, and is presented by Live Nation Artists Events Group, Ozono Productions and David Binder Productions.
