The Chaos Theories, the critically-acclaimed urban comedy presented by Shotgun Productions in association with The Resistance Theatre Company, is scheduled to open November 1 at the McGinn/Cazale Theater (2162 Broadway, 4th Floor).  Written by two-time Drama Desk nominee Alexander Dinelaris (Zanna, Don't!), and co-directed by Stewart M. Schulman and Alexander Dinelaris, the play will have a four-week run Wednesdays-Saturdays through November 17.  Tickets are $18.

"Set in a downtown New York City eatery, 21 characters including a movie star, a Senator and his controlling wife, a vindictive stockbroker, a Hollywood producer and a hallucinating homeless woman collide in encounters that range from humorous to shocking and tragic," explain press notes.

Dinelaris, who was recently tapped to pen Academy Award nominee Alejendro Gonzalez Inarritu's (Babel, 21 Grams) next project, wrote The Chaos Theories in response to a post-9/11 urban society where personal agendas destroy our sense of civility. Dinelaris is currently working with producer Bill Haber (Rock 'n' Roll, Proof, The Iceman Cometh) and director Melly Still (Coram Boy) on developing his new play Still Life for Broadway.

The ensemble cast is headed by Broadway veteran Alison Fraser (two-time Tony nominee, The Secret Garden and Romance, Romance), and includes Richard Bekins, Ted Kōch, Todd Gearhart, Maryann Towne, Darcie Siciliano, Amanda Montavani and Max Darwin.  The creative team is comprised of costume designer Bobby Pearce (Tony nominee, Taboo), set designer Tema Levine and lighting designer David. A. Griffith. Casting by Joan Lynn, stage manager Carol A. Sullivan.
