Introducing the First Annual Renewal Festival
Four teams of artists specializing in various mediums will be given a piece of text—a poem, a religious passage, or a song, for example—to inspire creation…with just 24 hours to complete their work. The JCC opens its doors and invites its community to experience the behind-the-scenes process, from concept to unpolished piece to finished art, and take in all the possibilities that art created in just one day can bring. Artist groups include Dance + Music (The Epichorus, Lilach Orenstein, and Mor Mendel), Theater + Music (The Jewish Plays Project + Aviva Jaye), Music + Music (The Kinsingtones and Sasha Gutierrez), and Visual Art + Community (John Drury). Tickets include the opportunity to drop in on the creative and rehearsal process before unveiling the resulting performances on Sunday, October 15th.
