In celebration of the 50th off-Broadway performance of Becoming Dr. Ruth, Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer hosted a special book signing session and talkback at off-Broadway's Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd Street) today, November 27. BroadwayWorld was there and brings you a sneak peek below! Be sure to check back for our full coverage!

Following today's 2PM performance (3:45 - 4:30PM) and prior to the 7PM performance (5:30 - 6:15PM), America's favorite sex therapist, Dr. Ruth, signed copies of her bestselling books Sex for Dummies and Musically Speaking. In addition, playwright Mark St. Germain joined Dr. Ruth to sign copies of the Becoming Dr. Ruth script, with a special appearance by star Debra Jo Rupp.

The day's festivities will continue with a talkback following tonight's performance. Audience members are invited to stay in their seats to hear Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer, Mark St. Germain and Debra Jo Rupp discuss the play, and ask their own questions.

Everyone knows Dr. Ruth Westheimer from her career as a pioneering radio and television sex therapist. Few, however, know the incredible journey that preceded it. From fleeing the Nazis in the Kindertransport and joining the Haganah in Jerusalem as a scout and sniper, to her struggles to succeed as a single mother coming to America, Becoming Dr. Ruth is filled with the humor, honesty and life-affirming spirit of Karola Ruth Siegel, the girl who became "Dr. Ruth", America's most famous sex therapist.
