This Monday, June 29 would have been the 99th birthday of legendary composer/lyricist Frank Loesser. The company of the new hit Off-Broadway musical FOR LOVERS ONLY (Love Songs...Nothing But Love Songs) is preparing a special celebration of this renowned American icon. In attendance Monday evening will be Loesser's widow, Jo Sullivan Loesser, original leading lady of his lushly romantic Broadway classic, "The Most Happy Fella." Monday's performance of FOR LOVERS ONLY will begin at 7 p.m.

The show's musical director Ken Lundie states, "I doubt there is any more prolific composer than Frank Loesser with his astounding contribution of classic love songs for Broadway and Hollywood musicals. In celebration of his 99th birthday, the cast of FOR LOVERS ONLY will perform an additional one-night-only medley in our show featuring just a few of his beloved songs. And we're so thrilled that Jo Sullivan Loesser will be with us on this very special evening!"

FOR LOVERS ONLY recently opened to rave reviews at New World Stages. Conceived by Nancy Friday, FOR LOVERS ONLY presents a dazzling array of love songs from pop to Puccini, from Broadway and around the world, interspersed through a fast-paced evening, directed and choreographed by Christopher Scott, with musical direction by Ken Lundie. The five-member cast features Glenn Seven Allen, Monica L. Patton, Dominique Plaisant, Trisha Rapier, and Kevin Vortmann.
