Luigi Creatore's Flamingo Court was directed by directed by Steven Yuhasz and celebrated life in three Florida condos at New World Stages. From the ridiculous to the touching, Creatore's' play has been heralded as "Without question, the funniest show in town. Laughs galore!"

Flamingo Court began its second season at New World Stages on April 18 with 38 performances and 9 previews. Flamingo Court follows the nosy and endearing residents of Flamingo Court, a South Florida apartment complex. Each apartment reveals a new story and a new lesson: Sex lives after sixty. Where there's a will, there's a relative. And love heals all wounds...at any age.

Throughout the run the cast of Flamingo Court help raise over $2000 for Meals on Wheels.

Luigi Creatore (Playwright) was born in New York in 1921. (You do the math). He retired to Florida in 1981. In between, he spent most of his years as a record producer with his partner, Hugo Peretti. The team of Hugo and Luigi chalked up dozens of gold records with such artists as Sarah Vaughan, Jimmie Rodgers, Perry Como, Sam Cooke, Della Reese, etc. As a songwriter with partners Hugo Peretti and George David Weiss, he wrote a number of hit songs, of which two megahits were "Can't Help Falling in Love" for Elvis Presley and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." In 1968, the team was represented on Broadway with Maggie Flynn starring Shirley Jones and Jack Cassidy, and Off-Broadway with Smile, Smile, Smile. After retiring to Florida, Mr. Creatore wrote the Off-Broadway play The Man Who Shot Lincoln and began writing about the Florida scene for the Boca Raton Community Theater. Much of those works morphed into Flamingo Court.

Presented by Theatre 21 and Carolyn Rossi Copeland, Flamingo Court cast includes: Alex Bond ("SNL", "All My Children"), Diane J. Findlay (Stanley,Top Girls), Tim Jerome (Tarzan, La Bohème, Beauty and the Beast, Lost in Yonkers, Grand Hotel, The Phantom of the Opera , Me and My Girl, Cats), Lucy Martin (The Constant Wife, Hollywood Arms, Joe Egg, The Sisters Rosensweig, Noises Off), Herbert Rubens (45 Seconds from Broadway, Band in Berlin, Requiem for a Heavyweight, and Gordon Stanley (Cabaret, Ragtime, Beauty and the Beast, Meet Me in St. Louis, Teddy & Alice, Into the Light, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Onward Victoria) The scenic design is by Steven Capone; lighting design by Herrick Goldman; costume design by Carol Sherry; and sound design by David Arnold.
