SONGS STUCK IN MY BODY is a one-woman dance-theater show that takes the audience on a romp through the residue of childhood. Combining dance, theater, songs and personal storytelling, Sarah Chien moves through a series of scenes, each pairing an improvisation task with artifacts from Girl Scout vests to Beanie Babies. At once comedic and deeply personal, the piece sorts through the capitalist excess, gender socialization and family heritage that we each accumulate on our way to finding our own story. The show is meant for all audiences, presenting an accessible entree for new audiences to dance and theater.

The show premiered January 2019 at Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn and is now presented by EstroGenius 2019, curated by Melissa Riker. It is directed by and developed in collaboration with Lauren Hlubny.

The artistic team is actively looking for new opportunities and will be available to meet with new collaborators after the show.
