Emery Stars in 'Lucy' US Premiere with EST; Begins 10/24

Ensemble Studio Theatre and The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation proudly announce the US premiere of Damien Atkins's new play Lucy. Performances begin October 24, for an October 29 opening. This limited engagement runs through November 18 only. Ensemble Studio Theatre is located at 549 West 52nd Street (between 10th & 11th Ave)

"Vivian is an anthropologist at the top of her field.  She craves solitude -- motherhood was never an option.  But when forced to care for her estranged teenage daughter, Lucy, her life is turned upside down.  Lucy is autistic...and might be the next step in Vivian's evolution," explain press notes.

William Carden directs a cast featuring Lisa Emery, Lucy DeVito, Christopher Duva, Keira Naughton, and Scott Sowers.  Lisa Emery's credits on Broadway: The Smell of the Kill, The Women, Present Laughter, Jackie, Rumors, Burn This; Off-Bway: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Abigail's Party (Drama Desk and Lortel nominations), What the Butler Saw, Curtians (ensemble Obie), Iron (Obie Award, Lortel nomination), Dinner With Friend, Far East, The Monogamist, Marvin's Room, Talley & Sons, Dalton's Back.

Lucy will have Scenic Design by Ryan Kravetz; Costume Design by Suzanne Chesney; Lighting Design by Chris Dallos; and Sound Design by David Lawson.

Tickets for Lucy are $20 during previews (October 24 – 28); regular tickets (October 29 through November 18) will be $30 with Senior and Student tickets $15 for all performances, which are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday at 7PM, Friday and Saturday at 8PM with matinees Saturday at 2PM and Sunday at 3PM. Special performance Sunday November 4 at 5 PM.
