Saville's hard-boiled
Monkey Trick tells the story of two successful New York City drug dealers and the woman they both love. Garrett and Wilson are in trouble: the police have raided Wilson's house on the very night that Garrett has broken up with his girlfriend, Wendy. When Wilson seeks refuge in their apartment, the three old friends feel the world closing in on them, as they close in on each other. Unsure who to trust or how to proceed, all three look for a way out and are forced to deal with the choices they've made and ultimately the people they've become.
The ensemble cast features Eastwind Company Members: Penny Bittone (
Two Rooms in Davis, 365 plays, 365 Days) Anne Fidler (
Two Rooms in Davis; The Sustainable Future), and David Marcus (
Artfuckers; The Sustainable Future; Margo Veil: An Entertainment). All three are veterans of Blue Box Productions' "Sticky" series for which Saville has written several short plays. Saville penned and directed Eastwind's maiden production of
Two Rooms in Davis, which enjoyed a succesful run last season. He is also the director of the award winning feature-film,
Williamsburg. Williamsburg will be released Summer, 2008.
