The Theater Center (1627 Broadway), thanks to a sponsorship from MTI, will present EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE FANTASTICKS BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK, Saturday, June 20th from 10:00AM to 6:00PM to let people know that the show is in fact still open and will continue on as an iconic NYC landmark.

After announcing its impending close, THE FANTASTICKS received an enormous amount of press coverage. Many people came to see the production again (or for the first time) before its planned last performance and it was clear that the show held a special place in their hearts. They also had lots of questions -- how did the show begin? What famous actors have played in it? How many other productions have there been? What is the secret to the show's longevity?

EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE FANTASTICKS BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK will answer all these questions and more. Guest speakers include author/director Tom Jones, original Fantasticks star Rita Gardner, journalist Robert Viagas, author of The Amazing Story of the Fantasticks, as well as several previous cast members including Rita Gardner, producers and even few Fantasticks super-fans.

The Seminar Lineup:

9:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Catered breakfast/networking

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Guest speakers will include Robert Viagas, Rita Gardner and original co-producer Dorothy Olim.

2:00 PM - 4:15 PM: Matinee Performance of The Fantasticks

4:15 PM - 6:00 PM: Talk back with Tom Jones, cast, creatives and previous cast members

Tickets are $100 for the complete seminar and $60 for just the seminar (without the show). All proceeds go to the Fantasticks Kids in the Theater program -- a Theater Center program that gives free Fantasticks Wednesday matinee tickets to NYC schoolchildren who have never seen live theater.
