After sold out runs across the country, Drew Droege (Drunk History, Bob's Burgers, and the internet's "Chloe") returns to New York for a three night limited engagement of Bright Colors And Bold Patterns at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow St, New York) from September 16 through September 18 before transferring to Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles.
Written and performed by Drew Droege, Bright Colors And Bold Patterns is a riotous new solo play that storms the stage with ferocity and wit, called a "sidesplitting rant on gay marriage" and "hilariously expressive minimalist perfection" by critics (Annenberg Digital News, Stage Happenings LA) when it last ran in Los Angeles.
Josh and Brennan are about to get married in Palm Springs on a lovely Saturday afternoon. However, the night before becomes a drunken, drug-fueled scream riot, because their friend Gerry has arrived, furious that their invitation says "please refrain from wearing bright colors or bold patterns". In the struggle for equality, what do we really want? What do we lose? And is there any cocaine left?
Looking forward to collaborating with Droege, Urie says: "I cannot wait for Barrow Street's audience to experience Drew Droege live, he is the funniest person I know and his play is food (and drink) for thought."
The limited engagement will play three performances at Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow St, New York): Friday, September 16 at 8pm, Saturday, September 17 at 8pm, and Sunday, September 18 at 5pm.
All tickets are $25 and are available online at www.brightcolorsandboldpatterns.com, in person at the Barrow Street Theatre box office open daily at 1pm, or by calling (866) 811-4111.
