The cast of Off-Broadway's musical smash THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS is set to perform at the Upper West Side Barnes & Noble tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 PM to launch the newest book by the show's author, Dorothy Marcic. THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS opened on October 27th at St. Luke's Theatre to unanimous rave reviews and was recently extended due to popular demand.

In the new true crime book WITH ONE SHOT: FAMILY MURDER AND A SEARCH FOR JUSTICE, released yesterday by Citadel/Kensington Press, Dorothy Marcic writes about the crime that has haunted her since she was a teenager. WITH ONE SHOT resulted from the 1970 murder of Dorothy's Uncle Vernie in Oregon, Wisconsin. Vernie's wife Suzanne confessed to the murder but many of the facts didn't add up. She pled insanity and spent only 11 months in a mental hospital, never spending a day in prison. In this explosive new book, Dorothy hopes to set the record straight and find justice for the murder that's affected her family for decades.

At tomorrow's special Barnes & Noble event, Dorothy Marcic will be performing a short one-woman piece that she adapted from the book.

THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS stars Traci Bair (CIRQUE DREAMS, PANDORA'S BOX), Aneesa Folds (RAGTIME, SISTAS), Jana Robbins (Broadway's GYPSY, THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE, CRIMES OF THE HEART), and Haley Swindal (Broadway's JEKYLL & HYDE, THE SECRET GARDEN at Lincoln Center).

Dr. Dorothy Marcic is a playwright whose productions have played in over 70 U.S. cities. Currently, she is also represented Off-Broadway by SISTAS, New York's longest-running African American musical now in its seventh year. She is an adjunct professor at Columbia University and a former professor at Vanderbilt University. Dorothy was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Economics-Prague, has three masters and a doctorate, and is the author of 15 books including the bestsellersUNDERSTANDING MANAGEMENT and RESPECT: WOMEN AND POPULAR MUSIC (the genesis for THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS). She has appeared on C-SPAN, CMT and Bravo.
