Producers Max McLean and Fellowship for the Performing Arts (C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters) present a staged reading of Magic, a play by G.K. Chesterton tonight, August 27th @ 7:30 pm at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, NYC.

The cast include Broadway vets David Furr (The Importance of Being Earnest), MacIntyre Dixon (Cyrano), Juliette Trafton (The Fantasticks), Matt Lutz (Bonnie and Clyde), Kurt Rhoads (Julius Caesar), Stephen Trafton (Les Miserables), and David McNamara, under the direction of Dan Roche.

Magic was written as a challenge from George Bernard Shaw, a close friend and debating partner of Chesterton. With his typical wit and mirth, Chesterton tackles the enormous subjects of supernaturalism vs. naturalism and skepticism vs. belief in this highly humorous, intelligent, and romantic play, about a motley crew of intellectuals that gather at the estate of a wealthy Duke to view a magic show with a twist so incomprehensible it will change their lives forever.
