DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE Wins Outstanding Production Award, Will Have Off-Broadway Run

After nearly 100 performances of 16 award-winning productions, SoHo Playhouse's producing artistic director, Darren Lee Cole is proud to announce that Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, written and performed by Burt Grinstead and Anna Stromberg and presented by Blanket Fort Entertainment, is the winner of the SoHo Playhouse's Fringe Encore Series Outstanding Production Award. As the recipient of this award, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde will receive a six-week Off Broadway run at the historic SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). Dates TBA.

Additional, Mr. Cole has announced that the 2019 SoHo Playhouse's Fringe Encore Series will take place at the Playhouse from November 27 through December 29, 2019 and will feature the 'Best of the Fests' from International Fringe festivals including Adelaide, Auckland, Orlando, Brighton, Hollywood, Edinburgh, Vancouver and newcomer, Scranton. Written by and starring Burt Grinstead and Anna Stromberg, this bare-bones Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde is a dizzying, fast-paced, horrifying extravaganza that leaves you splitting ribs as you question your own morality. Based on the classic novella, this original adaptation takes you to the dismal streets of London in the 1860s, where societal pressures silence a gentle doctor's questions about the nature of morality. As the pressure intensifies, Dr. Jekyll takes matters into his own hands. However, things take an eerie turn when his experiment takes on a life of its own. Will his efforts save the world, or will they destroy all that he holds dear? After all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
