Cromer To Return To OUR TOWN At Barrow Street Theatre 6/19

Obie and Lucille Lortel Award winner David Cromer returns to the central role of ‘Stage Manager' in his critically-acclaimed staging of Thornton Wilder's timeless play Our Town on Friday 6/19 (to honor a prior commitment, Mr. Comer departed the company May 1st for a 5-week hiatus). Scott Parkinson, who assumed the role during his absence, gives his final performance June 18th. Mr. Cromer will continue in the role through August 16th and will make his Broadway directorial debut when rehearsals begin for the Broadway revival productions of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound, shortly thereafter.

The current cast at The Barrow Street Theatre features (in alphabetical order) Jeremy Beiler as Sam Craig, Rob Beitzel as Howie Newsome, Kati Brazda as Mrs. Webb, George Demas as Constable Warren, Donna Jay Fulks as Mrs. Soames, Jennifer Grace as Emily, Wilbur Edwin Henry as Professor Willard, Adam Hinkle as Joe Crowell, Ronete Levenson as Rebecca Gibbs, James McMenamin as George, Ken Marks as Editor Webb, Jonathan Mastro as Simon Stimson, Seamus Mulcahy as Wally Webb, Lori Myers as Mrs. Gibbs, Jay Russell as Joe Stoddard, Jeff Still as Doc Gibbs, Jason Yachanin as Si Crowell, and Scott Parkinson as the Stage Manager.

David Cromer's award-winning staging of Wilder's play began performances February 17th and opened to rave reviews on February 26th at the downtown venue whose space has been completely redesigned for this production. Our Town was recently awarded the 2009 Lucille Lortel for Outstanding Play Revival and Direction, with Mr. Comer receiving the 2009 Obie Award for Outstanding Director.

Our Town is produced by Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter, Ted Snowdon, Eagle Productions, Dena Hammerstein/Pam Pariseau, The Weinstein Company, and Burnt Umber Productions.

The performance schedule for Our Town is as follows: Tuesday - Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $69 & $45.00 and are available through SmartTix (212) 868.4444, www.smarttix.com, or at the Barrow Street Theatre box office (open at 1 p.m. daily). Student tickets at $20 are available on the day of performance only at the box office.
