Chalfant, Graff, Sternhagen & More Lead 'Turning Points' Play Festival, 11/9

On November 9, The League of Professional Theatre Women will be present a New Play Festival on at the Cherry Lane Theatre in downtown Manhattan.  The festival entitled "Turning Points: Women Have Their Say" is designed to provide a forum for women in the arts to showcase their work.  

The plays and talent line-up includes:

river post-futurist, Playwright: Paula Cizmar, Director: Melanie Sutherland

Target, Playwright: Glenda Frank, Director: Edie Cowan

I Stood With My Satchel, Playwright: Leah Kornfeld Friedman, Director: Ludovica Villar-Hauser

And Then I Went Inside, Playwright: Anne Hamilton, Director: Lorca Peress

Song, Playwright: Shirley Lauro, Director: Melanie Moyer Williams

A Chip On My Shoulder, Playwright: Carol Mack, Director: Tricia McDermott

The Waiter, Playwright: Sheilah Rae, Director: Pamela Hunt

The Right Number, Playwright: Deborah Savadge, Director: Melissa Maxwell

Half Light, Playwright: Joan Vail Thorne, Director: Elyse Singer

What's Left, Playwright: Lee Thuna, Director: Cara Reichel

The productions will feature some of New York's most celebrated actors including Jacqueline Antaramian, Kathleen Chalfant, Randy Graff, Kathryn Grody, Kathryn Layng, Maryann Plunkett and Frances Sternhagen. Additional performers will be announced shortly.

The festival will take place on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at 8:00pm at the Cherry Lane Theatre
(38 Commerce Street). This event is a benefit for the League of Profession Theatre Women's programming. General admission tickets are $40 each. To reserve tickets, email LPTWnewplayfestival@gmail.com and send a check made out to the League of Professional Theatre Women to: LPTW, P.O. The League of Professional Theatre Women is an advocacy organization for reinforcing the positive image of, promoting the visibility of, and increasing the opportunities for women in the arts and entertainment industries, more particularly the professional theatre, thereby enriching the culture with the infusion of women's creativity.  They are a support system for women in theatre, in which they serve as resources for each other by mutual sharing of experiences, insights and work, a center for the exchange of information and skills that women can utilize in their careers, a means of linking women in the professional theatre with colleagues in college and university theatres, and with women in other performing arts organizations in the United States and abroad.
