Cast Announced For BETWEEN GODS AND KINGS: A New Rock Show Image

Casting has been announced for the Off-Broadway production of BETWEEN GODS AND KINGS at BEDLAM in the East Village, running every Thursday night at 10pm.

This new rock show presents a twisted adaptation of The Bacchae by Euripides. BETWEEN GODS AND KINGS brings to life the conflict between two long-lost cousins, the unyielding King Pentheus played by Jimmy Schumacher and a vengeful god Dionysus, played by Jacob Shipley, both desperately fighting to hold on to power of their kingdom. The king's strong-willed mother, Agave, portrayed here by audience favorite Sheri Sanders, and the people of Thebes are caught in the crossfire of this epic battle. How far will they go to protect their family name, and at what cost? Presented in a non-traditional space with an immersive staging, BETWEEN GODS AND KINGS asks, is your life really yours when you're stuck between gods and kings?

This limited run of BETWEEN GODS AND KINGS begins previews on March 21 and opens March 28. The show will run once a week until May 9.

The actor-musician cast and band is rounded out by Emily Iaquinta, Derrick Medrano, Tristan Marzeski, Nicholas Lerangis, and Ryan James Ortega.

BETWEEN GODS AND KINGS will be produced by Our Establishment, LLC with Kathryn Fray. Executive produced by Taylor Shubert and Katherine M. Carter, music produced by James Dobinson (The View Upstairs). The show features an original rock score by Neil Douglas Reilly (Loch Lomond, Orchestrations for Rocky: Broadway, Clinton: The Musical, Stars of David) and words by Austin Ruffer and Maggie Herskowitz (Monster Prom). Stage Managed by Abigail Strange. General Manager is Kathryn Fray.
