Carla Gugino, Caroline Aaron and More Set for LCT3's A KID LIKE JAKE, Beg. Tonight

Caroline Aaron, Michelle Beck, Peter Grosz and Carla Gugino will be featured in the cast of the upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater world premiere production of A KID LIKE JAKE, a new play by Daniel Pearle, directed by Evan Cabnet. A Kid Like Jake begins previews tonight, June 2, opens Monday, June 17 and will run through Sunday, July 14 at the Claire Tow Theater, 150 West 65 Street.

A KID LIKE JAKE is the story of a husband and wife trying to do right by their son. Alex (to be played by Carla Gugino) and her husband, Greg (Peter Grosz), want only the best for their precocious four year old, Jake. When they apply to New York City private schools, part of what makes Jake special - his passion for Cinderella and dress-up - starts to cause concern.

A KID LIKE JAKE has sets by Andromache Chalfant, costumes by Jessica Wegener Shay, lighting by Japhy Weideman and sound by Jill BC DuBoff.

Daniel Pearle's plays include Bel Canto (semi-finalist, O'Neill Playwrights Conference, 2012), Tearin' Up My Heart and Plunder (2008 Loeb Drama Center's Phyllis Anderson Prize). His short play The Truth About Christmas was a winner of the 2011 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival and is published and licensed by Samuel French. Residencies and conferences include The Blue Mountain Center, New York State Summer Writers Retreat and the UCLA Writers Studio. He earned his BA from Harvard University and recently completed his MFA at The New School for Drama.

Evan Cabnet directed the LCT3 production of All-American . Other credits include the Broadway production of The Performers, Warrior Class (McGinn-Cazale Theatre), Outside People (Vineyard Theater),Dream of the Burning Boy (Roundabout), Oliver Parker!, The Mistakes Madeline Made (Naked Angels), Oohrah!(Atlantic Theater Company). His regional theater credits include productions at the Goodman Theatre, Denver Center, Long Wharf Theater and the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

LCT3 was established in 2008 by Lincoln Center Theater as a programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists as well as developing new audiences. Tickets to all LCT3 productions are $20. Past LCT3 productions include Ayad Ahktar's Disgraced, winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and Amy Herzog's 4000 Miles, a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize.

This spring LCT is also presenting Douglas Carter Beane's The Nance, directed by Jack O'Brien, on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre and Richard Nelson's Nikolai and the Others, directed by David Cromer at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

A KID LIKE JAKE will be performed Monday and Wednesday through Sunday evenings at 7pm, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets, priced at $20 for all performances, will be available beginning Sunday, May 26 at the Lincoln Center Theater box office, telecharge.com or at lct3.org.
