Actors Len Cariou, Penny Fuller, Judd Hirsch, and Tony Roberts are scheduled to appear in upcoming Paley Center for Media's "Food For Thought."

"Food for Thought" is a weekly series of one-act plays by award-winning writers performed by an alternating repertory of Broadway stars. The series was created by writer Susan Charlotte in order to provide a home for the oft neglected short form.

On Monday, March 8, Fuller and Roberts will star in Dorothy Parker's HERE WE ARE as well as LADY WITH A LAMP. In this very Parker piece one "friend" is supposedly consoling another friend named Mona, who is heartsick. Though Mona seems to wind up feeling much worse after listening to her friend's advice. Parker, as usual, is able to combine comedy with heartache. The presentation will also feature Mark O'Donnell's SCHOOLYARD CONFIDENTIONAL and Susan Charlotte's DID YOU KNOW MY HUSBAND.

Hirsch will appear at FOOD FOR THOUGHT on Tuesday, March 16 in Michael Cristofer's POP.

POP is a beautifully written one-act play that deals with a father and son relationship. The language is simple and understated, the relationship is complex and filled with a lifetime of miscommunications and longings. What is said tells only a small part of the picture, what is not said speaks volumes. Written by writer (SHADOWBOX, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, and "Witches of Eastwick"), director and actor (currently in Arthur Miller's "A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE") Michael Cristofer's, "Pop" is for everyone who has ever had a father!

Cariou will perform in the series on April 26, although the program has not yet been announced.

Tony Roberts' Broadway credits include BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, HOW NOW, DOW JONES, PROMISES, PROMISES, CABARET, and more. Roberts returned to Broadway in May 2007 in the roller-disco rock musical XANADU.

Len Cariou made his Broadway debut in THE HOUSE OF ATREUS, later landing a starring role in the musical adaptation of the film "All About Eve," APPLAUSE. His role in APPLAUSE earned him a Tony Award nomination as best Actor in a Musical and won him the Theatre World Award. He earned his second Tony nomination for A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. He won the Tony and Drama Desk Award for his portrayal of SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET in the Sondheim musical.

Penny Fuller debuted on Broadway in THE MOOD BESIEGED and later appeared as replacements in the original productions of BAREFOOT IN THE PARK and CABARET. She also played Ever Harrington in APPLAUSE and appeared opposite Nicol Williamson and Glenn Close in REX. In recent years Fuller has appeared in AN AMERICAN DAUGHTER, and THE DINNER PARTY, for which she received a Tony nomination.

Judd Hirsch won the Tony Award for best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for his role in Herb Gardner's CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER. He also won the Tony Award in 1986 for I'M NOT RAPPAPORT. He has also appeared onstage in THE HOT I BALTIMORE and TALLEY's FOLLEY.
