CLEOPATRA Will Begin Performances At Chelsea Music Hall on October 23 ImageProducer Nathaniel Hill announced today that CLEOPATRA, a unique Off-Broadway immersive musical experience will begin an open-ended residency at Chelsea Music Hall (407 W 15th Street), a new venue opening underneath Chelsea Market. Directed and choreographed by JT Horenstein, the new pop musical features music and lyrics by Jeff Daye and lyrics by Laura Kleinbaum. The premier offering of the new venue, which will officially open to the public in October, CLEOPATRA will begin performances on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 with an official opening night on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Complete casting will be announced shortly. Tickets are now on sale.

Dusty Ray Bottoms, a popular contestant on the most recent season of the Emmy Award-winning competition show "RuPaul's Drag Race," will make his NYC theatrical debut as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Nya (Motown: The Musical) and Christian Brailsford (The Lion King) will lead the cast in the roles of the ill-fated lovers, Cleopatra and Marc Antony.

Power. Seduction. Ruin. The legendary Queen of the Nile is throwing one of her famously lavish parties to celebrate the Empire's latest triumphs over Rome, and you are invited to attend. Inside the palace, drinks flow, and music seduces as guests are met with every indulgence. But outside the city walls, the alluring Marc Antony beckons, the nefarious Octavian lurks, and Cleopatra's enemies plot a violent end to her prosperous reign. The Queen better watch her back.

CLEOPATRA is a high-octane fusion of music, dance, fashion, theater and nightlife that welcomes audiences into a wholly interactive experience. Set to an original pop and electronic dance music score spun by a live DJ, this exhilarating immersive musical traces history's most seductive and powerful ruler, mixing historical drama with an enveloping spectacle that will have guests partying until the Empire falls.

Paying homage to the revelry and rich entertainment culture of Chelsea's past, Chelsea Music Hall will open beneath Chelsea Market this fall. Booking will be helmed by Sergei Sklyarenko (aka "Serge," Sullivan Room) with partners including Chip Quigley (Kingdom Entertainment Group), Michael Barrett (China Club, The Tippler) and Michael Ginsberg (Events at Chelsea Market, The Tippler), with the venue hosting a wide range of entertainment including immersive theatre, DJs, music, comedy and more. Like the Chelsea Market's food hall upstairs, Chelsea Music Hall aims to be a destination for anyone - New Yorkers or otherwise - looking for a place where they can still have a good time in Manhattan.

Cleopatra played a strictly limited engagement at Theater for the New City in the East Village in September - October 2017. The new immersive experience was a runaway success, selling out its entire run.

The design team for CLEOPATRA includes costume design by celebrity fashion designer and former "Project Runway" contestant Nicolas Putvinsky, scenic design by Christopher Bowser (The McKittrick Hotel), lighting design by Joe Cantalupo (American Idiot), sound design by Drama Desk Award-winner Drew Levy (Chaplin, SpongeBob SquarePants), electronic music design by Lloyd Kikoler, music direction by Cynthia Meng, and vocal arrangements by Brian Usifer (Frozen).

CLEOPATRA is produced by Nathaniel Hill, Chelsea Music Hall, Courtney Smith, Stark Kirby, Jennifer and Christine Schoppe, Hal Brody Productions, Inc. and JT Horenstein.

Tickets for CLEOPATRA are $39 - $69 and are available online at www.cleopatraexperience.com. Premium "front row" seated tickets are available for $99. A limited number of Broadway Plus VIP packages are available for $199 and include a front row seat, a complimentary cocktail, a Cleopatra souvenir, and a private meet and greet with Dusty Ray Bottoms.
