CastAndLoose Live! returns for its 5th full-length installment to present CastAndLoose Live! Body Language on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017 at 9:30pm at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street, NYC. Tickets are $20 and are available at http://www.publictheater.org/reserve/index.aspx?performanceNumber=33697. Run time is one hour.
CastAndLoose Live! is based on the Tumblr page created and maintained by actress and writer Lynne Marie Rosenberg (High Maintenance); castandloose.tumblr.com is "your daily dose of show business misogyny, racism and general absurdity," featuring a collection of the worst, real casting notices the internet has to offer. In CastAndLoose Live!, stars of stage and screen dramatically bring to life some of the ridiculous and offensive breakdowns featured on the blog.
This evening, in honor of a president who ridiculed the disabled, publicly humiliated Miss Universe for her weight, and bragged about sexual assault, CastAndLoose takes on ageism, ableism, fat-shaming, transphobia, nudity, and everything breakdowns have to say about the body.
A portion of proceeds will benefit The Alliance For Inclusion in the Arts. As always, come laugh at the problem while funding the solution.
Lynne Marie Rosenberg will perform with guest artists Pun Bandhu (Plenty), Joel Marsh Garland (Orange Is The New Black), Tom Phelan (The Fosters, Hir), Cara Reedy(Infamously Short), Aneesh Sheth (Southern Comfort), and Maysoon Zayid (Most Watched TED Talk of 2014). The evening is directed by Jenn Haltman, and will feature the stylings of musical comedy team Gordon Leary and Julia Meinwald.
More participants to be announced; casting is subject to change.
