Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a free reading of: LITTLE BOY BLUE by Michael Mitnick, directed by Sam Buntrock. The cast includes Bryan Terell Clark, Ana Nogueira, Noah Robbins, Luke Robertson, and additional actors to be announced.

A poor little rich kid gets it in his head that he is capable of inventing the perfect murder. But when his plan is put into motion and it looks like he's going to succeed, is it too late to slam on the brakes?

Michael Mitnick’s recent output includes Sex Lives of Our Parents (produced at Second Stage Uptown) and Fly By Night (produced at TheatreWorks, upcoming production next season at Dallas Theater Center). Upcoming world premieres next season include Ed, Downloaded directed by Sam Buntrock by The Denver Center Theatre Company; elijah by LOCAL in Boulder; and SPACEBAR: a Broadway Play by Kyle Sugarman at City Lights in San Jose. For Broadway, he is writing the book for Animal House and lyrics for King Kong. Little Boy Blue was also developed with support from Berkeley Rep and P73. Member of Ars Nova PlayGroup. 2012 Visionary Playwright from TheaterMasters. M.F.A. from The Yale School of Drama in Playwriting.

Sam Buntrock is Director in Residence for McCarter’s 2011-12 season in which he'll also be directing the world premiere of Are You There, McPhee? by John Guare. McCarter: Take Flight. Other credits: Sunday in the Park With George (Broadway, West End, Menier, and 5th Avenue Seattle; five Olivier Awards including Outstanding Musical Production, Olivier nom. for Best Director, nine Tony noms including Best Director, and a Drama Desk nom. for Best Director), Much Ado About Nothing (Two River), A Maze (New York Stage & Film), Cradle and All (MTC), Cradle to Rave (UK National Tour), God Collar (Edinburgh, UK National Tour, and West End), the current European tour of The Rocky Horror Show (since 2008), the first London revival of Assassins (New End), Get a Life, and Help Yourself (both Edinburgh and UK tour). He has also worked as an Animation Director on numerous projects, including the feature film Stuart, A Life Backwards for Neal Street Productions, HBO, and the BBC. Sam trained at Bristol University and as Resident Assistant Director at the Donmar Warehouse.
